Flocken och barnen i gläntan och salen, Lingatans förskola, Uddevalla kommun, art installation planned in 2026

The pre-school’s canteen on the ground floor – a room with large windows and a warm, sand coloured floor and off-white walls and – is the place for this installation. The guiding words of the school are together, joy, teamwork, inclusiveness and colour.

Animals hanging in the window are easy to take down, enabling staff to use them in their interactions with the children. All of them have different facial expressions: happy, angry, surprised, sleepy and so on. All objects are made of European linden wood and painted with Swedish linseed oil colours. They are sculpted manually with craft tools to achieve unique 3D, soft and smooth surfaces. Some animals are placed close to the floor to make them available to the children.

Jag ger dig min blomma, jag ger dig min dag, Lingatans förskola, Uddevalla kommun, art installation planned 2026

The installation is placed in a corner of the pre-school canteen on the 1st floor. The colour scheme is the same as on the ground floor and the guiding words are the same too, see above.

The flower in the installation is a flax flower – which is also the name of the pre-school itself. The objects give you a feeling of both flying, floating and being under water. All objects are made of European linden wood and painted with Swedish linseed oil colours. All pieces are sculpted manually with craft tools to achieve unique 3D, soft and smooth surfaces.

Skymningsmoln, Trollsländans Förskola, Kungsbacka kommun, sketch assignment, 2025

The art was to be placed on a pre-school outdoor wall. The wall is grey and consists of fibre cement slabs. The guiding words of the school are development through experiencing, sustainability in harmony with nature, cooperation, transparency and overview.

The artwork planned consisted of manually slumped 3-dimensional ceramic building blocks mounted on metal (made by a subcontractor) attached to the wall. The sketch assignment was approved by Kungsbacka kommun. However Kungsbacka kommun and I, with the support of Konstnärernas RIksorganisation (KRO), agreed to not proceed to the assignment. Please contact me for further information.

Model of Skymningsmoln, the original version. In the by Kungsbacka approved version the cloud had been excluded and the larger ”bird” was coloured red, orange and yellow. After the approval the shapes of the birds were changed to make it possible to attach them to the wall slabs.

Spanare, Trollsländans Förskola, Kungsbacka kommun, sketch assignment, 2025

Kottar & knytt, Kinnareds förskola, Hylte kommun, art installed 2024

The art is placed in a pre-school canteen, a room with large windows, high ceilings, linden flower green floors and bright yellow doorframes. It is a bright space encouraging the usage of colors. The guiding words are movement, fantasy, joy, playfulness and the same but yet different. The name of the installation is a pun: both ”kottar” and ”knytt” are words used for children. All surfaces are 3D processed by hand. The most tactile objects are hung low over a bench and are easy to reach for the children.

Handhjärtat, Kinnareds skola, Hylte kommun, art installed 2024

The art installation is placed in a school entrance with a yellow brick wall and a brown stone floor. There was an older installation in place already. It consisted of discreet, semitransparent children’s hands in molded glass and a bluish green mosaic and they both needed to be taken into consideration when making the new installation. Guiding words hands, friendship, joy, movement, cooperation and democracy. Once motif and colors were set the reference group asked for a bright red heart which I was happy to give them!
